An out-of-state certified nurse aide can work as a CNA in Colorado for a period of four months before obtaining certification in this state. The CNA should only be allowed to work after her registry status has been checked by the employer, in the state the individual is transferring from. The endorsement process needs to be completed within those four months in order for the nurse aide to continue working. Agency employment is not allowed until a nursing assistant is certified in Colorado.
