The Maryland Board of Nursing is in charge of regulating nurse aide programs throughout the state. CNA training programs must be fully approved by the Board and the Maryland Higher Education Commission before students are allowed to enroll. Only those who complete an approved program are eligible to take the CNA examination and become certified in Maryland.
