Am I required to attend a state-approved training program prior to testing for CNA in Florida?

Someone told me that I can learn on my own and not do the training and I was wondering if I can just take the Florida test for nursing assistants and skip the training program.

Florida is one of the states where an individual may challenge the nursing assistant exam without completing a training program first so the answer is YES unless you have already failed part of the certification exam three times. A state-approved training program is not required prior to testing in Florida but it is strongly recommended. If you plan on taking the exam without going through a training program then please be aware that you need to be 18 years of age OR have a high school diploma or its equivalent. There are certain advantages and disadvantages either way but it is definitely possible in Florida.
