CNA Training Programs in Rhode Island
If you want to work as a nurse aide in Rhode Island, the first step is to complete a state approved nursing assistant training course. Only those who complete a state approved CNA training program are eligible to sit for the Rhode Island nurse aide exam. The Rhode Island Community College is the school of choice for many individuals interested in nursing assistant classes. The CNA program is offered through the Center for Workforce and Community Education. Courses are seven to twelve weeks long, giving students the option to enroll in day or night classes. Day time nursing assistant classes take between seven and nine weeks to complete while night time courses require between ten to twelve weeks of study. Nursing assistant classes are held at the Warwick and Lincoln campuses. Nurse aide students must successfully complete the eight-eight (88) hours of theory and thirty-two (32) hours of clinical practice to graduate from the program.
The entire nursing assistant training course amounts to one hundred and twenty (120) hours of instruction. A well deserved bonus received by all graduates of the CCRI nursing assistant course is earning six credits towards the renal dialysis certification program. Those who plan on enhancing their skills and career mobility in the future have the option of completing this advanced program at a later time. The final CNA state exam is administered in the school's testing center, and all students receive guidance and help with state applications for licensing. After becoming a CNA how much more experience, training or school has to be done to become a registered nurse?
Admin on August 18, 2014 at 11:32 PM
CNA training classes are usually between six and eight weeks long. During training you learn to provide assistance with activities of daily living to clients which are elderly, sick, or disabled. A registered nurse program involves a lot more studying than a CNA course. Associate degree nursing programs require at least two years of study and clinical practice, while bachelor's degree RN programs require four years of study and hands-on practice.
