Your nurse aide registration expires 24 months after being added to the Texas Nurse Aide Registry or after the last date of verified employment. In order to maintain your registration, you must submit an employment verification form in the online system, which will document that you have performed paid nursing or nursing-related services and completed 24 hours of in-service education. A list of approved in-service education programs can be found here.

If you have not worked as a nurse aide in a nursing facility or health care setting for 24 consecutive months or more and completed 24 hours of in-service education, you must retake the Texas Nurse Aide Skills Examination and the NNAAP Written Examination. You may contact the Texas Nurse Aide Registry at 512-438-2050 for additional Information.
