As far as I know, in New Jersey each nurse aide training program instructor/evaluator shall:
- Be currently licensed in New Jersey as a registered professional nurse.
- Possess at least three years of full-time or full-time equivalent experience in a licensed health care facility.
- Possess at least one year of full-time or full-time equivalent experience as a registered professional nurse in a licensed long term care facility, within the five years immediately preceding submission of the instructor/evaluator resume to the Certification Program of the New Jersey Department of Health for approval.
- Have successfully completed a training workshop offered by the New Jersey Department of Health for instructors/evaluators.
NATCEPs and facilities are notified by mail of scheduled Instructor or Evaluator Workshops. The notification includes a registration slip, which must be submitted to the Certification Program. A resume and the required fee made payable to the New Jersey Department of Health for each instructor or evaluator must accompany each registration request. You may contact the New Jersey Department of Health, Division of Health Facilities Evaluation and Licensing at 866-561-5914 for additional information and guidance.
