The following individuals are eligible to sit for the nurse aide certification exam in New Jersey: student nurses who completed the Nursing Fundamentals coursework and clinical practice, graduate nurses, newly trained nursing assistants, out-of-state trained and certified nursing assistants, newly trained Personal Care Assistants, nurse aides trained in the military, and those with a New Jersey CNA certification lapsed for less than five years.
