Are online training programs just as good as traditional courses or am I wasting my time?

A good way to compare two different nursing assistant courses is to look at the number of instructional hours provided by each. How much time is dedicated to the classroom as well as the clinical component of the course? Does the online CNA program conduct hands-on, clinical practice at a long-term care facility or hospital? This is required in most states and some states have no approved online programs.

Choose the online version of a nurse aide course only when it is very similar to a traditional program in terms of curriculum and practical training and you have previous experience in the field. Also, make sure that the course is approved by the regulatory body in your state before you pay anything.
