According to the rules and regulations set by the Idaho nurse aide registry, a newly trained nurse aide has six months from the date of completing the training to take the hands-on examination and twelve months before sitting for the written examination. The nurse aide exam's skills section has to be successfully completed before one becomes eligible to take the written section of the exam.
