It is possible for a nursing student to sit for the CNA exam without proof of attending a nurse aide program. In order to challenge the nursing assistant exam in Idaho, a nursing student needs to successfully complete the theoretical and clinical components of a basic nursing course, such as Nursing 101. A copy of the student's transcript needs to be sent to the Idaho CNA Registry to obtain approval for the examination.
