The New Jersey certification exam for nurse aides has two parts, the skills evaluation and the written or oral exam. The written exam consists of sixty questions. To pass this exam one needs a score of seventy-five percent or higher. Each candidate has ninety minutes to answer the sixty questions on the written test. The skills evaluation consists of five separate skills. One of the skills is hand-washing. All five skills need to be performed successfully in order to pass the hands-on exam.
