Nurse aides renewing their certification after September 1, 2013, are required to complete 24 hours of in-service education every two years. All approved NATCEPs are eligible to offer in-service education. Starting on November 9, 2015, nurse aides may complete 12 hours of the required 24 hours of in-service in a healthcare entity other than a facility licensed or certified by DADS, by the Department of State Health Services, or by the Texas Board of Nursing.
