My license expired but I have worked as a CNA in the last two years. Currently I do not work as a CNA but I would like to get back into it.

According to the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry, if you have worked as a nurse aide within the last 24 months, you need to submit a completed renewal form, signed by your employer, to report your employment history. When the renewal form is processed (approximately 10 days), the Nurse Aide Registry will be updated to reflect your eligibility to work in federally certified facilities. You should keep a copy of your completed renewal form and send the original by certified mail to Pearson Vue.

The renewal form and instructions can be found here: Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry Renewal Form.

You may check to see if your status was updated on the registry as well as your new license expiration date approximately two weeks after submitting the form. The registry verification page can be found here: Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry Search.
