To become a certified nursing assistant in Connecticut the following individuals must take and pass both parts of the nurse aide exam: newly trained nursing assistants; nurses or those who are enrolled in a nursing program; out-of-state trained nursing assistants who have not been placed on their state's CNA registry. A newly trained nurse aide has twenty-four months from the program completion to apply and take the certification exam.
