May I be certified to be a nursing assistant after RN school?

I did not attend a CNA program, but I did attend 4 semesters of registered nursing school. I did not pass the registered nursing school exam. I am wondering if after a few semesters of registered nursing school, I am qualified to be a CNA or work as a CNA. I live in Louisiana.

In Louisiana, RN and LPN students who have completed sufficient course content may be eligible to test for certification, if the application and required documentation is submitted within three years of taking relevant nursing courses. RNs and LPNs who trained in other countries will be required to test in order to be certified to the registry. Military personnel and RN/LPNs have to submit the documentation requested to determine eligibility for certification.

Complete the "Application for Nurse Aide Certification" and submit all required documentation noted on the application. If approved, you will receive a letter that will provide any additional instructions, if applicable. Please note that if you qualify for the test, the Nurse Aide Registry does not offer the certification exam. You will be required to schedule the exam with an approved tester, and will be responsible for the cost of the exam. Obsolete applications and unofficial transcripts will not be accepted. Information must be submitted by mail and if additional information is needed, you will be notified once your application has been reviewed.
