A Maryland nurse aide certification is usually issued for a two year period following the date of the first renewal. Your CNA certificate expires on the 28th day of your birth month. If you have additional certifications, such as GNA, HHA, or medication aide, those will also expire on the same date as your nurse aide certification. There is a renewal fee associated with your CNA certificate and additional certifications do not require a renewal fee.
