The practice of nursing assistants in Nevada is regulated by the Nevada Board of Nursing. An individual who works as a nurse aide must maintain minimal eligibility requirements to qualify for certificate renewal. The following are required by federal regulations and by the Board of Nursing: complete twenty-four hours of continuing education on topics related to a nursing assistant's scope of practice and work for a minimum of forty hours as a nurse aide, every certification period.
