I am a registered CNA in Missouri but it has been a while since I practiced. I need a copy of my registration and I would like to know if I need to get recertified to practice as a CNA once again.

If your status on the registry is inactive then you have to retake the Missouri CNA competency examination in order to reactivate your certification. If your registry status is listed as expired then I believe you must retrain and then retake the competency exam. According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, a CNA certificate is considered inactive if there was a two year break in the CNA's employment. A CNA certificate is considered expired if there was a five year break in employment. You may check the status of your license here: Missouri Certified Nurse Assistant Registry Search.
