Schools and facilities offering CNA training programs in Illinois are not required to issue certificates of course completion. Furthermore, the state does not issue credentials, certificates or licenses to certified nursing assistants. To verify if an individual is indeed qualified to work as a CNA, employers must use the online verification system available through the Illinois Department of Public Health website. In addition to online services, verifications may be performed by mail, phone, or email.
