You may obtain certification as a dialysis technician after the successful completion of a board-approved CNA-DT training program. Passing a final examination which includes a written exam and a clinical competency demonstration is also required. The nurse aide dialysis technician programs are designed to prepare you to work as a nurse aide and as a dialysis technician. After the first renewal, your certification as a nurse aide dialysis technician is valid for a two-year period. Sixteen hours of active practice are necessary to qualify for biennial renewal.
