A nurse aide can be disqualified from employment in a Medicaid and Medicare certified nursing facility when: your certification lapses due to a lack of employment for more than two years months; there is a conviction on your record that prevents you from holding a position as a nurse aide; you have been found guilty of resident abuse, neglect or misappropriation of resident property.
