Individuals who wish to become certified as nurse aides in Florida are not required to first complete a state-approved nursing assistant program. Even though it is possible to challenge the nurse aide exam in this state without prior formal training, graduating from a CNA program is strongly recommended for those without previous healthcare experience. Those challenging the nurse aide exam need to have a high school diploma or its equivalent and be at least eighteen years old.
